Black Sand Diaries: Part Three.

While editing these photos, I realized we DID have Iceland all to ourselves. Perhaps the North-West is much less explored. Each time we stopped for a picture, it felt like we were in the set of a different movie... alone. I even got to sit in the middle of the road #likeaboss!

Waterfalls and black sand beaches aside, Iceland is also known for its geothermal energy (which heats most of the homes in the country.) We had the chance to stop by two power stations - the Bjarnarflag and the Krafla. The accompanying on-site steam rising into the sky added a touch of “sci-fi” to our photos which was incredibly beautiful.

On our way to Reykjavik, the landscape changed so quickly and we soon found ourselves driving past more greenery. Right before Borgarnes, a small forest (Daníelslundur) caught our attention but we thought twice about it. Luckily, we did the right thing and u-turned because this place left a serious impression on us! Let me do you a favor and give you the coordinates of this place because it is very easy to miss. 64°39'37"N   21°42'20"W. The forest is good for a hike, picnic or even camping. You'll love it.

The final part of my “Black Sand Diaries” will be posted this weekend, and it will be filled with photos I took in Reykjavik (and hopefully a video to “wrap things up”!)
